Champions League draw pits Munich against Manchester United

Manchester United, beaten by Barcelona in last year's final, will square off against German side Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of Europe's Champions League soccer tournament.

Friday's draw in Nyon, Switzerland, near Geneva, also pits London club Arsenal against Barcelona in a repeat of the 2006 final.

The other match-ups include Italy's Inter Milan up against CSKA Moscow and Lyon against fellow French side Bordeaux.

The first legs are scheduled for the end of March with the return matches taking place on April 6 and 7.

The semi-final draw was also made, which will see the winner of the ManU and Munich game meeting Lyon or Bordeaux, and Inter or CSKA playing Arsenal or Barca.

Europa League matches also set

The fixtures for the Europa League quarterfinals were also drawn on Friday at UEFA headquarters in Nyon.

The outcome of that draw sees Liverpool up against Benefica, while Atletico Madrid will face Spanish rival Valencia. English side Fulham squares off against reigning German champions Wolfsburg, and the other German team, Hamburg, will host Belgium's Standard Liege.

The Europa League first-leg matches are scheduled for April 1, followed by the return legs on April 8.
